The Postpartum Body

Movement to heal, support, and energize a body that has given birth. Access over a dozen classes with a monthly membership for $20/month

Life with a little one is surprisingly athletic, and we come at it straight after the major changes of pregnancy and birth.

Whether we had a c-section or a vaginal birth, having a baby changes us--often for years. Yoga and functional movement exercises can help the core and pelvic floor regain strength and resilience, which can improve symptoms like incontinence, prolapse, diastasis, lower back pain, sciatica, sore shoulders, and a tight neck. This class will be beginner-friendly, but check with your practitioner to ensure it’s safe for you to do gentle core exercises, standing postures, and so on.

In addition to a physical practice meant to help the postpartum body heal, strengthen, and release, we will also address the postpartum spirit, which is sometimes holding trauma, stress, anxiety, body image issues, or simply the difficulties of fitting in self-care as a parent. Each class will include breathing, Restorative postures, and a brief check-in (live classes only, sharing not required) to share and connect in a supportive community. In addition to our practice, we will discuss ways to include movement in your day-to-day routine with the little one so you can keep up with the exercises that benefit you most.

Once you get access, you’ll find dozens of classes to practice at your own pace. They were recorded live from a class that was held weekly, but feel free to do them as often as you like. The full collection is HERE.

These classes are for anyone who has given birth once you’ve gotten the OK from your practitioner to start exercise. Beginners are welcome. I give lots of options depending on where you are on your journey.

You might enjoy the class more fully if you can do it on your own, but little ones are totally welcome to join you. I will give options where I can for including them.

You may like to have some props with you for this class, such as a bolster, a couple of blocks, a blanket, and a strap, but we work with what we’ve got.
