Divine Feminine in the Tarot
A 4-Week Online Course
Goddess Mythology in the History of the Tarot
Hidden in the Tarot cards you may already know is a tale of the divine feminine: goddesses who were suppressed, repressed, forgotten, and found their way back into the story again. The Empress, the High Priestess, Strength, The Star, and many other Tarot cards represent goddess mythology from all over the world. Learn their stories and why they matter to the tale of the Tarot.
Over four weeks of 60-minute online classes, we will look at the history of the Tarot and the symbols and images that reference specific goddess mythologies. We will learn how the divine feminine works in the system of the Tarot and how it can inform your personal relationship with the cards.
This course will focus on 11 specific Major Arcana cards plus a little bit of the Minor Arcana to uncover the divine feminine mysteries in the deck. We will look at the history of the cards as well as the Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth versions of the deck to understand the archetypes and why they matter for a given reading (and why their stories might have disappeared from the common understanding of the Tarot).
Beginners are welcome, as are more experienced readers. You can do this course alongside Julie’s in-depth Secrets of Reading the Tarot course or on its own. Attend live, where there will be time for discussion, or watch the recordings on your own time.
Julie is the author of several books including Maiden, Warrior, Mother, Crone: Divine Feminine Archetypes for Modern Life; Witch, Healer, Priestess, Outcast, the second in that series, and Secret Tales of the Tarot: A Journey Through the Hidden Histories of the Tarot Deck
